Dan and Loren's Jewish wedding at St Emrin's Hotel, London

My first ever Jewish wedding and boy did it not disappoint, amazing day with fantastic people! The entire event was held at St Ermin’s Hotel in London, a beautiful venue that I have had the privilege of shooting at several times now.

Bride and groom prep were both in the hotel itself, however the boys may have popped into the pub very quickly for a very quick pint :)

The ceremony was beautiful and the flowers on the Chuppah looked incredible. After that concluded we shot the formal photos on the hotel steps making the most of the gorgeous weather. Once we had finished here, it was back into the hotel for some Israeli dancing, this was so much fun to photograph, the energy was amazing and the music certainly seemed to get everyone up and on their feet. It wasn’t long into this that the bride and groom were held up aloft sat on a chair being carried by the grooms party.

The wedding breakfast was held in the grand ball room, which has possibly the best chandeliers of anywhere in London!

The night finished with a live band and everybody on the dance floor.  Perfect end to a perfect day!

Kyle and Alison's wedding at Wise in Paddock Wood

Just a few word’s that spring to mind when I think back on Kyle and Alison’s wedding day…….unique, warm, sunset, intimate, quirky, alternative but above all fun. I attend allot of weddings but I suppose that is pretty obvious given the fact I am a wedding photographer :). However there are weddings that you attend and then those that you are really made to feel part of the day, Kyle and Alison’s wedding was definitely the latter. We had allot of fun and met some awesome people.

The venue itself is near Whetsted Farm in Paddock Wood and is called Wise Wedding Venue. Now I have lived in Paddock Wood for a number of years prior to this wedding and the first I had ever known about it was when Alison initially contacted me. It's a venue like no other and I know I say that allot but in the case of Wise, its 100% accurate. It is very remote and set in the middle of a woodland, it has tree houses, wooden horse’s, a marquee, sofa’s that double up as tree swings and proved to be the ideal location for Kyle and Alison’s big day. It fitted their brief perfectly and did not fail to deliver.

We were very luck on the day as the weather was perfect, warm with blue skies, perfect for lounging around on the numerous hay bales. The sunset we had was nothing short of stunning and when it eventually dipped down under the horizon, the camp fire was lit and everyone enjoyed congregating around it to enjoy a glass or two chatting with friends.

I really hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did making them. Thank you for dropping by :)

Featured in Your Kent Wedding Magazine

Firstly, I know the blog posts have been a little (very)  thin on the ground lately but this time of year tends to get a little crazy to say the least. I have lots of cool stuff to share though so please stay tuned :)

So, Your Kent Wedding Magazine contacted me a little while ago asking to run an editorial piece on a styled shoot I had done with the Amazing Iveta. Of course I said yes as to be honest there is nothing better for me than seeing my photos in print. As an added bonus, one of the images was also selected for the front cover!

These photos were obviously not shot at a real wedding, it was a conceptual shoot that I had been thinking about for some time and when a rare window of opportunity presented itself, the shoot was arranged.

We shot these images in Dungeness, located on the South coast of England. If you haven’t ever visited there it is an amazing place, almost a little unworldly!

Anyways enough babbling, I hope you enjoy the images and if you would like to get a copy of the magazine, pop over to Your Kent Wedding

Crondon park with Craig and Sarah

Today’s featured big day is a winter wedding from Crondon Park in Essex, a beautiful venue surrounded by very nice golf course.  I met with Craig and Sarah back in 2014, shortly after they booked me as the wedding photographer for their special day.

After we discussed the various options, they decided that a pre wedding or engagement shoot would be a nice idea, a link to that can be found here

Crondon park offers an all in one solution so bride and grooms can get married there as well as having the wedding breakfast and reception all within the same space. The barn that the reception is held in is very impressive, a beautiful vaulted ceiling with lots of exposed timber. Venues that offer this all in one solution seem to becoming increasingly popular, it definitely seems to make for a more relaxed day as travelling is kept to a minimum.

The wedding date was the 23rd December so not just a winter wedding but a Christmas one too! With this in mind we had absolutely no idea what weather we could expect, knowing what the UK is like, it could have been anything from snow to blazing sunshine! As it turned out it was the latter and we also had what I can only describe as an incredible sunset!!

We also wanted to take some photos of the bridal car, a Rolls Royce but something a little different from the normal. This ended up with me being sat in the boot of a car driving up a bumpy road with the Rolls Royce following, the end result was worth it though.

Here a few photos from the day.

Back to St Ermin's Hotel with Ainsley & Sam

Today's blog is another wedding I was lucky enough to shoot at the beautiful St Ermin's Hotel in London. The hotel is located in central London, just a two minute walk from St James's Park and only a stones throw from the Houses Of Parliament. To have a look at the first wedding I shot here, please click HERE

Ainsley and Sam contacted me after seeing another wedding I had shot at St Ermin's, we arranged a meeting and as they say, the rest is history. The previous weddings I have shot at this venue have been amazing and this was no different. There was however one difference and that was that we went for a stroll after the ceremony. This proved to be a great decision, we made our way over to St James's Park. The weather was perfect and the gardens were out in full bloom!

The boys got ready at the County Hall Marriott Hotel which meant photos with some London landmarks during the walk over to St Ermin's. This worked out well as Ainsley is originally from Australia and the grooms party included friends and family from back home who had made the long journey over.

No wedding at St Ermin's would be complete without at least a few photos on what has to be one of the most jaw dropping staircases I have ever seen!  After the photos were taken, it was time for the wedding breakfast!

The evenings entertainment was courtesy of a DJ who had the dance floor full the entire night!

So there you have it, another fantastic day at one of my top wedding venues in London. If you are or know someone getting married at St Ermin's, don't hesitate to contact me

Aman & Rosie at Fennes in Essex my first Sikh Wedding

A wedding of firsts! My first Sikh wedding and my first at the beautiful Fennes in Essex. This was actually the second day of the two day wedding, the first being a traditional Sikh ceremony held at a templeTraditional Sikh drummer called a Gurdwara This was a December wedding and lets just say the weather wasn't really on our side, howling wind and heavy rain. However we didn't let this dampen our spirits and made the best of the gorgeous interior in the main house. When I visited the venue prior to the wedding with Aman and Rosie I was very impressed, the grounds and the main house are lovely and very picturesque but Fennes hides a card up its sleeve. Once you enter the main house, you can keep walking and walking, its huge!! I had no idea looking at the house from the outside that at the rear there is two rooms varying in size from large to enormous!!

Here are a few images from my time spent with Aman and Rosie at Fennes in Essex.

We had a great time shooting here, if you or someone you know is getting married there, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Alex and Parki's Engagement Shoot

Alex and Parki live in Hong Kong but flew over to the UK for the pre wedding or engagement photos and what a day we had!! I really enjoy these types of shoots and this was no exception. We started at Rendcomb College in Cirencester where Alex had studied, the buildings and Chinese engagement Photographer_0012grounds were perfect although the weather looked like it would go against us at any moment, luckily we got some photos before it finally poured hard.

The brief for this shoot was fun, drama, contrasty, colourful and vibrant. The very grey and menacing skies actually did us a favour as it certainly made for some dramatic shots!

After Rendcomb college we headed over to Cowley Manor, a stunning hotel that is more like a huge art installation than a hotel. If you haven’t stayed there before and are in the area I highly recommend it. So after another outfit change we were back shooting again and making the most of Cowley Manor’s beautiful grounds including the hidden garden.

This shoot was allot of fun and one I wont forget in a hurry. If you would like to another Asian engagement shoot, this time shot in London, please click here.

Thanks for looking

Rachel and Alex's big day at Leez Priory

Photographing Alex and Rachel’s wedding at Leez Priory in Essex was a great day. The weather was perfect and everyone had a fantastic time.  This was the first time I had photographed a Fireworks and sparklers at a Leez Priory weddingwedding at Leez Priory but I am hoping to return, it really is a fantastic wedding venue. For those that don’t know, Leez Priory is a 16th-century mansion near Chelmsford in Essex, England. The civil parish boundary between Felsted and Great Waltham crosses the priory, so that it partially lies in Felsted and partially in Great Waltham.

The day started photographing the boys getting ready, they had stayed over at Leez Priory the night before the wedding in one of the cottages. After finishing up with the chaps it was onto photographing the beautiful architecture, made up of the main house and what I can only describe as a large tower.

As I mentioned earlier, the weather was perfect which allowed for the wedding service to be held outside in the grounds.  The guests were seated and then the bridesmaids walked across the lawn shortly followed by Rachel and her dad. The arched floral display looked amazing as did the bouquets.

After the service the guests were served canapés and drinks on the lawn whist I got started on shooting the formal photos and then it was onto the wedding breakfast. After everyone had enjoyed a lovely meal it was on to shoot the bride and groom photos, all of which were in the grounds of  Leez Priory.

The evening was mainly spent outside as it was still warm and there was a BBQ, music and beer, what more could you ask for! Alex and Rachel even had their first dance on the lawn which was awesome.

The finale to the night was a firework show,  and what a show it was!

If you or a loved one is planning a wedding at Leez Priory and looking for a wedding photographer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

David and Tatiana - The Painted Hall in London

Getting married at the Painted Hall in Greenwich is an truly amazing experience, being a wedding photographer there is incredible! I can’t think of many wedding venues in London that match Bride and groom at night painted hall greenwichthe jaw dropping beauty and architecture of the Old Royal Naval College. The painted hall itself with amazing artwork by Sir James Thornhill has to be seen to be believed. You have a couple of options when holding you're wedding celebrations at the Old Royal Naval College, 'Choose The Painted Hall For Grand Opulence And Drama. Choose The Admiral’s House For Intimacy, Versatility And Tradition’. David and Tatiana chose the painted hall with the evenings celebrations being held in the undercroft .

I was thrilled when David and Tatiana contacted me enquiring if I was available for their wedding day. The painted hall has been on my Wedding venues I must shoot  bucket list for some time, so the opportunity to shoot there was a pretty big deal. The day began with a church service at St James ChurchSpanish Place, 22 George St, London W1U 3QY, which if you have not visited before is definitely worth a look, a stunning church in the heart of London.

When the ceremony concluded, the guests were treated to a boat trip along the River Thames which took them literally to the front door of the Old Royal Naval College. Having a boat jetty located there is perfect for couples that want to add a little something extra special on they’re wedding day and as a bonus you get to see the Cutty Sark as well! Upon arrival drinks and canapés were served and guests enjoyed listening to a string quartet whilst soaking up the stunning architecture of their surroundings.

When David and Tatiana arrived it was onto the formal photos, Tatiana is originally from Columbia and had a lot of family and loved ones that had literally travelled half way round the world for this wedding, we had to ensure all of them were included in the photos. I had discussed the everyone group photo with Tatiana prior to the wedding and she requested that I include the buildings either side of the steps. You will see that this was a slight challenge due to the size of the buildings! Happy to say though it worked perfectly and the end result I think looks great.

Now it was time for some bride and groom photos before the guests were seated for the wedding breakfast. The grounds of the Royal Naval College really spoil you, there is so much to shoot but so little time. We had visited the painted hall prior to the wedding and discussed where David and Tatiana would like photos to be taken so on the day we all knew exactly what to do and when.

Onto the wedding breakfast!! The looks on guests faces as they entered the painted hall for the first time really sums up this wedding venue, it is literally jaw dropping. Even if you are not planning a wedding there I would definitely recommend visiting, its incredible. So after the wedding breakfast it was onto the speeches and of course a slice of wedding cake! At this point the wedding guests were invited downstairs to the undercroft where a DJ played music and the guests partied the night away.

The entire day from start to finish was amazing and I would like to thank David and Tatiana for booking me as they're Wedding Photographer. I hope you have a long and happy life together!!

If you or a loved one is planning a wedding at the Painted Hall and looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to get in contact to discuss the big day.

Thanks for dropping by.

"Chris is a photographer who went the extra mile to make sure we were absolutely thrilled with everything on our wedding day.  From helpful suggestions on the best shots during our pre-wedding meeting to capturing the perfect shots in the church and reception, Chris was the perfect photographer and achieved the best photo album we could have ever dreamed of.

Apart from being an excellent and very professional photographer, Chris is an amazing person who is very easy to work with and understood very quickly the type of photographs we wanted to achieve.

We loved his style of photography, his professional nature and his personable approach making him a perfect photographer for any wedding whom we couldn't recommend highly enough.

Gary and Crystals Wedding at Orsett Hall in Essex

What a day photographing Gary and Crystal’s wedding at the beautiful Orsett Hall in Essex. The hotel is set amongst 12 acres of landscaped gardens and is the perfect backdrop for any wedding.

Crystal contacted me last year and booked me as their wedding photographer. I am a Kent based wedding photographer but often travel to Essex and London to photograph clients weddings.

Bride and groom preparations started at Orsett Hall in the morning, it was a glorious sunny day. The church which they chose to marry in was only a short drive away so with preparations completed, we all made our way there.

After the service we shot some family photos outside the church and a few of Gary and Crystal. We were keen to get back to Orsett Hall as the grounds are beautiful. Upon arrival at the hotel we shot some more formal photos, detail shots of the wedding breakfast room and candids of the guests. Then it was time to explore the landscaped gardens for bride and groom photos.

The weather that evening was perfect, very warm and clear skies. Gary and Crystal had asked at the initial consultation for some low light evening shots. So after the wedding breakfast, off we went once again into the gardens. We also wanted to incorporate the huge chandelier Orsett Hall has that reaches 3 floors up!

I hope you enjoy the small selection of images, if you are getting married and would like to discuss your big day, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Jake and Charlottes Big Day

What an amazing wedding day at Selsdon Park Hotel in London. Jake and Charlotte contacted me last year about being they're wedding photographer, and I am so happy they did. It was a fantastic winter wedding with amazing blue skies and golden December sunshine.

The boys started the day with groom preparations at the Selsdon Park Hotel. Whilst I captured Charlottes preparations at her parents house, about 5 minutes from the church. All Saints Church in Selsdon is lovely, reminded me of a local parish church, very ornate with some amazing stain glass windows.

The weather was crisp but not cold, the most important thing was that it wasn’t raining or even worse, snowing! Jake was there with the groomsmen in good time along with the guests. Charlottes car arrived and the bridesmaids met her and made a precession up the to church doors.

The service was very nice and the sunlight coming in through the stain glass windows looks incredible. After the service concluded and the register signed we made our way outside. A short time later we all made the shirt trip down the road to Selsdon park Hotel.

The hotel is very nice, boasting lovely grounds and an 18 hole golf course. We had a list of group shots to take and then it was onto the bride and groom photos. The sun was very low and a warm golden colour, unbelievable really considering this wedding was the end of December.

After the photos it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. When I visited the venue with Jake and Charlotte prior to the wedding, Charlotte mentioned she really liked one of the staircases. After the pudding was served we sneaked out to capture a few photos there and I am really glad we did, very happy with the finished images.

It was a great day, the staff at the Selsdon Park Hotel were fantastic, the weather gods were looking down on us and it was a pleasure to work with Jake and Charlotte.

Below are just a few of my favourites from the day.

Jossie and Helens big day at Hendall Manor Barns

When Jossie and Helen first contacted me about being their wedding photographer, they were living in Cairo. They planned to get married at Brenchley Church, literally 5 minutes from my house, a church I have photographed weddings at before. The reception was to be held at Hendall Manor Barns in Uckfield.

We discussed the big day via email and decided the best thing to do would be to meet when Helen was back in the UK. Her parents lived in Brenchley so a meeting at a local coffee shop was put in the diary. The meeting went very well and I was very happy when Helen confirmed they wanted to book me as their wedding photographer.

The day started with Helen getting ready at her parents house, Jossie’s groom preparations were at the Hand and Sceptre in Southborough, Kent. Once preparations were complete, it was off to the church. Helen had booked a two tone vintage Rolls Royce, what a beautiful car!

After the service we headed down in procession to Hendall Manor Barns which is located in Uckfield, East Sussex. I had never photographed at this venue but did visit prior to the big day with Jossie, Helen and her parents.

Hendall Manor Barns is a beautiful wedding venue, its very secluded and blends modern with traditional extremely well. The food and staff were excellent and the sun was blazing down on us, a perfect day!  The grounds are lovely and ideal from some bride and groom portraits.

Inside the split level barn is very bright due to some amazing full height windows. The exposed brick and stonework really adds character to the space.

I hope you enjoy looking at the images, if you are getting married and looking for a Wedding photographer in Kent or anywhere else for that matter, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Syd and Rosie's Wedding at The Berkeley Hotel

The ballroom at the Berkeley for a wedding receptionBeing a Wedding Photographer in London means I am lucky enough to shoot in some amazing locations. The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge in one such place. Syd and Rosie held they’re wedding service at the hotel followed by a reception in the hotel’s beautiful ballroom.

Rosie started the bridal preparations in one the many suites at the Berkeley whilst Syd and the chaps got ready at The Cumberland Hotel located where Oxford Street meets Park Lane.

The Berkeley Hotel in leafy Wilton place offers an amazing location for a London Wedding as its in the heart of Knightsbridge but only a short distance from Hyde Park. Bride and grooms can easily go for a short taxi ride to find some of London’s best Landmarks.Bridal preparation at the Berkeley Hotel in London

The wedding went perfectly. The registrars looked familiar to me and it transpired that they are regularly on the ITV series, Births, Deaths and marriages!

The weather gods were looking down on us. By the time the ceremony had finished it was getting quite dark but at least it was dry!

The wedding breakfast at teh Berkeley Hotel The wedding reception was held in the ballroom, a stunning setting with chandeliers and large ornate mirrors. Each place setting had a mirror with the wedding breakfast menu engraved on it, a really nice touch. The Ballroom is one of six rooms that the hotel holds weddings in, others include the Belgravia Room, the Mulberry Room and the Knightsbridge Room.

The hotel interior is amazing and proved to be a fantastic backdrop for some of the bride and groom portraits. The reception area in particular worked very well, lots of freshly cut flowers and ornate furniture.

Paul and Jess's Big day

Kingston Bagpuize House is located in Oxfordshire and has been there for over 1000 years, this was to be the location for Paul and Jessica’s wedding.  It was special in that they wanted to incorporate their Chinese wedding traditions which included a traditional tea ceremony, Chinese wedding banquet and some amazing outfits!

Due to the distance of the venue from home we stayed at a local hotel the night before the wedding. Upon opening the curtains on the morning of the wedding I was faced with grey clouds and heavy rain, not the best start to any wedding day. The wedding had been planned to be held outside, heavy rain would obviously have put an end to that.

Arriving at Kingston Bagpuize House you couldn’t fail to admire this beautiful house and grounds, a truly stunning location. The house itself is still privately owned and we met the owner Viriginia shortly after arriving, we were given a very warm welcome and directed to where Jess had started bridal preparations.

The rain was still falling but Jess was confident it would stop, I have to admit I wasn’t sharing her confidence at this point. To cut a long story short, the start time was pushed back 20 minutes and this was enough time for the rain to stop, no more rain for the rest of the day!

Sunbeam Studios Wedding Photography

Sunbeam Studios Provides the Perfect Traditional Backdrop for Modern London Wedding Photographs The Sunbeam Studios building was originally UK's first ever purpose built car factory. But today it is a wonderful location for modern London wedding photography.Bride and groom first dance St Ermin's Ballroom

With good links on the tube, by car, to Paddington Railway station and Heathrow, who knew when this building was built back in 1908, that such a place would become one of the most popular locations for London weddings.

This Edwardian listed building exudes elegance inside and out, making it the perfect location for a beautiful wedding.

The space itself comprises of four main areas, the Talbot Hall, Main Hall, the Rootes Hall and the Shrewsbury room, all of which connect via the elegant grand staircases and mezzanine level - both perfect locations to take wedding photographs and have wedding photographs taken.

But for my money, the highlight of wedding photography at the Sunbeam Studios has to be the sensational private gardens accessed from both Rootes Hall and the Main Hall.

If the weather is right, the gardens make the most beautiful setting for an open air reception and, with the Sunbeam Studios gift for outstanding presentation, wedding photographs taken here are like nothing you've ever seen before.

Sunbeam Studios are stylish, sophisticated and beautifully romantic, everything your wedding album will be if you have your wedding here.

And by combining state of the art luxury with traditional features and breath-taking elegance, the Corinthia manages to provide everything that a bride and groom would want on their big day, and so much more.

But even though the 1,000 crystal globe chandelier and white marble of the Lobby Lounge is going to captivate your guests, and the huge windows and vast mirrors in the Victorian ballroom are going to flood your event with the most beautiful light, it is actually the views from the Royal Penthouse that make this London wedding venue truly exceptional.

Choose a London wedding photographer with experience in long exposure photography and the most awe-inspiring backdrop becomes possible for your city wedding photographs.

And with everything from spas to on site make-up artists at your disposal preparation photographs, evening photo booths and beautiful panoramic wedding images become reality.

Beautifully Natural Wedding Photography at Luton Hoo

Beautifully Natural Wedding Photography at Luton Hoo The wonderful combination of lakes and moving water in the vast grounds of the Luton Hoo make it an idyllic place to create beautifully natural looking wedding photographs.Christopher Martin Photography

Some of the chestnut trees that stand within the grounds are more than 300 years old, and provide the ideal backdrop for some of the more romantic wedding photography that I have shot anywhere in Bedfordshire.

But with easy access for planes, trains and automobiles, even though Luton Hoo may feel like it is in the middle of your own little paradise, it is actually really well connected for everyone that is likely to want to attend your wedding from across the globe.

And this is a place with a wedding venue for every couple.

From the Warren Weir, which offers a fully exclusive wedding venue, through to more intimate rooms for the smaller wedding, Luton Hoo will always impress. They even have their own private London taxi service so that you can get the best shots possible in the wealth of 1,000 acres of parks, woodland and meadows.

For people looking for wedding locations in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or London, Luton Hoo is worth considering just for the sheer beauty of the images your wedding photographer can capture.
