Leeds Castle Wedding Photography - Stuart & Sarah

Timeless, Elegant Wedding Photography At Historic Leeds CastleA photo across the mote at Leeds Castle Stuart and Sarah booked me as their wedding photographer after  initially contacting me via email after looking the galleries on my website. We arranged a meeting at a coffee shop in Maidstone and that as they say was where it all began. I already had a booking to shoot a wedding at the Gatehouse so when Stuart and Sarah booked I had two weddings to look forward to there, one on the Gatehouse and one in  the Maidens Tower!

Preparations started on the day with Stuart at the local Hilton Hotel and Sarah at Keepers Cottage. Keepers cottage is on the grounds of Leeds castle and only a short ride in a golf buggy. The wedding was held in December so lots of christmas decorations and of course the huge Christmas tree that Leeds erect next to the Castle. Having a wedding in December is always a lovely thing, well if you like christmas that is. It can be very cold though and this wedding was no exception, absolutely freezing! Stuart and Sarah done  sterling job though, braving the cold for some sunset pictures.

The clear but cold night gave me the perfect opportunity to get some shots of the castle at night! A little more about the venue itself,  Leeds Castle is a Tudor-style stone castle in Kent, situated on 500 acres of grounds. There has been a castle at this strategically important site for 900 years. Although the castle is immersed in peace and tranquility, its location just a few miles from the M25 puts it within easy reach of London. The Maiden's Tower, a 16th century stone building, adjacent to the castle, is available for weddings, and can accommodate up to 80 guests. This provides a romantic atmosphere for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast, against the grand backdrop of the castle.

There are plenty of photographic opportunities at Leeds, with a selection of elegant backgrounds adding richness and variety to your wedding album. The imposing castle rising from the surrounding moat provides a dramatic background to intimate images of the bride and groom, while the stone arched entrance to the Maiden's Tower makes an excellent frame for a more formal pose. The surrounding parklands and formal gardens offer space for guests to spread out and relax, creating opportunities to capture authentic moments.

When booking a wedding at Leeds Castle, look for a Kent wedding photographer with experience of the venue, who will be able to offer ideas about images for your wedding album.
